Photo Coaster – Orangutan
One of our selection of Photo Coasters featuring a selection of wild birds and animals. All photos taken by me in various countries around the world. Each coaster measures 4″ by 4″ and are heat resistant. Also available as a Photo Placemat, see my other products.
Orangutans are great apes native to Indonesia and Malaysia. They are found in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra, but during the Pleistocene they ranged throughout Southeast Asia and South China. Classified in the genus Pongo, orangutans were originally considered to be one species.
I captured this Orangutan in Jersey Zoo in 2019. It was a sweleringly hot day and this Orangutan, as well as several others were using sacks and other pierces of equipment to try and keep in the shade. Always hilarious to watch
